Purpose - The aim of this article is to determine the important role of risk management in the logistics systems of the automotive industry. Therefore, the literature on risk definition and risk management was reviewed with particular emphasis on key aspects. The analysis of selected, currently used risk management tools and examples from the automotive industry (Faurecia, Volkswagen) are also significant. Study methodology – A review of the available literature was used. Result - The aim of the work has been fulfilled. Based on the available sources, an attempt was made to define important criteria in the measurement and monitoring of risk in modern logistics systems in the automotive industry. Examples of risk management solutions in the automotive industry are given. Originality/Value – The article indicates concepts regarding the definition of risk. Attention was paid to identification, risk measurement, risk management tools, examples from automotive industry enterprises.
